(sigh)
I'm not Catholic and have little insight into what signifies tradition in the Catholic church. But after years of reports of abuse of young boys by priests, why haven't the collective masses insisted, no DEMANDED, change in church policy? Do men follow the priesthood for the obvious reverential rewards but eventually get led astray by the draconian tenets the church dictates to priests? Or are these priests who are found to be deviants psychologically seeking this out prior to taking their vows? I'd be interested in knowing what happens to these supposedly God-fearing people. I'd especially be interested in knowing if there isn't some way the Church can demand piety without taking away humanity.
(sigh again)
